What goes into Toast, and what does the owner see?

What injects

Each order placed on your Zayos site: the items, the modifiers, pickup or delivery, and the time it is wanted. It arrives already paid online.

What you see

The order appears in Toast as a ticket, like one your staff rang in. Nobody copies it from a second screen.

What it costs

Toast bills the restaurant its own $50 a month for the integration. That fee is Toast's, it is paid to Toast, and it is not part of the Zayos price. Many Toast restaurants already pay it.

How long does setup take, and who does what?

We get you live in under a week. Connecting Toast is one part of that, and it is done with you, not to you.

You tell us you run Toast
On the start form you pick your POS. Nothing is connected yet.
You approve the connection
You add the integration from Toast Integrations, signed in to your own Toast account, and then connect Otter. We never ask for your POS password.
We match the menu with you
Orders are matched to your Toast items by name, so the names on your ordering site have to be the names in Toast. We go through them with you. We book about 20 minutes with you to connect the POS.
We place a test order together
A real order goes through your new site and lands in Toast as a ticket before anything is public.

Can I keep Toast Online Ordering as well?

You can, but two ordering links split your customers and your reports. Decide which one is the front door before launch, and point your Google profile, your bags and your social links at it. Switching Toast Online Ordering off is your account and your decision; we do not do it for you.

Zayos does not end, shorten or change your Toast agreement. Your terminals, handhelds, in-store card processing and payroll stay as they are.

Where do I change my menu, in Toast or in Zayos?

In Toast. When your restaurant runs on a POS, your online menu mirrors the POS menu, so you change an item or a price there. That keeps one menu for the kitchen and the website.

How do Zayos orders get into Toast?

Through Otter, the order hub Zayos runs on. A diner orders and pays on your own Zayos site, and the order is sent into Toast as a ticket with its items and modifiers. You add the integration from Toast Integrations, signed in to your own Toast account, and then connect Otter.

Does the Toast integration cost extra?

Toast bills the restaurant its own $50 a month for the integration. That fee is Toast's, it is paid to Toast, and it is not part of the Zayos price. Many Toast restaurants already pay it. Zayos plans are $399, $499 or $599 per location per month, with no setup fee and no contract.

Why would an order fail to reach Toast?

Almost always because an item on the ordering site is named differently from the item in Toast. Orders are matched by item name. That is why we go through the menu with you and place a test order before launch.

Does Zayos replace Toast?

No. Toast stays your register. Your terminals, your in-store card processing and your reports do not change. Zayos adds your own ordering site and sends its orders into Toast.

Can delivery app orders come in the same way?

On the $499 Operator + Tablet plan, DoorDash, Uber Eats and Grubhub orders arrive on one kitchen tablet with your direct orders. On the $399 Operator plan there is no kitchen tablet and no delivery-app feed; direct orders go into your POS.
