BentoBox vs Popmenu, checked by Zayos
Published July 2026 · Updated July 26, 2026
Popmenu publishes pricing: $179, $299 or $499 a month, setup included, no contract. BentoBox does not publish pricing and, per its own site in July 2026, sells only to Clover POS customers. For most new restaurants that decides it before price ever comes up.

Can a new restaurant still buy BentoBox in 2026?
Not unless you run Clover. BentoBox’s own site now opens with “BentoBox is now Clover”, and its FAQ says: BentoBox products and services are currently available to Clover POS customers only.
Existing customers are told to contact their success manager. Everyone else is sent to Clover. That is the state of the page on July 26, 2026.
This is why the usual feature by feature framing misleads people here. Most articles comparing these two were written when BentoBox was a standalone product you could buy on its own. Fiserv, the payments company behind Clover, completed its acquisition of BentoBox on November 22, 2021, and the brand has since been folded into the Clover ecosystem rather than sold separately.
So the honest order of questions is: first, are you on Clover POS or willing to move to it? If no, you are choosing Popmenu or something else, and the rest of this page is about making sure Popmenu is genuinely right rather than right by default. If yes, the feature comparison is real and worth having.
A vendor you cannot buy is not a cheaper vendor. It is a shorter shortlist.

The part that is not in the plan price
Popmenu applies a flat $1 fee on every online order, and states the restaurant can pass all, some or none of that to the guest. That is the number that scales with you, so run it before you sign.
At 600 online orders a month on Essentials: $299 plus $600 equals about $899 a month before card processing, unless you pass the dollar to the diner. At 200 orders it is $299 plus $200, about $499. The subscription is the small half of the bill once ordering volume is real.
Popmenu describes multi location menu management but does not publish a per location price. If you run more than one address, get that figure in writing before anything else.
Which problem am I actually paying to solve?
BentoBox: the website is the product
BentoBox built its name on design led sites for upscale independents, plus the things those restaurants sell around the meal: gift cards, ticketed events, private dining enquiries, catering. Clover described it at acquisition as a marketing and commerce platform used by more than 7,500 restaurant concepts worldwide.
If your problem is that your website looks like a template and you run wine dinners and buyouts, that is the shape of the answer. The constraint is that today it comes attached to Clover POS.
Popmenu: the guest list is the product
Popmenu’s interactive menu exists to capture guest contacts and dish level feedback, then feed an email and SMS engine. The tiers are literally sold on marketing volume: automated email at Starter, mass campaigns and social at Essentials, 5,000 SMS and audience segmentation at Premier.
If your problem is that people come once and you never hear from them again, that is the shape of the answer. The website is real, but it is the delivery vehicle, not the point.
Neither one is trying to be a full operations layer. Neither pulls your DoorDash and Uber Eats tickets onto one screen, and neither replaces your point of sale. If that is what you are shopping for, our restaurant website builder and integrations pages cover the wider category.
BentoBox vs Popmenu, line by line
“Not published” means exactly that. We will not print a number that does not appear on the vendor’s own site.
So which one wins?
Almost every independent restaurant not already on Clover
Not because it is the better looking product, but because it is the one you can actually buy, at a price you can read before a sales call. Published tiers, setup included, no contract, and a marketing engine that earns its keep if you work it.
Clover restaurants that sell more than dinner
If you are already on Clover POS and your revenue includes gift cards, ticketed events, private dining and catering enquiries, BentoBox was purpose built for that and connects to the register you already run. In that specific case it is the better fit and we would say so.
Operators whose real bill is marketplace commission
If most of your online volume comes through DoorDash, Uber Eats and Grubhub, a prettier website does not touch that. Both of these are guest-facing marketing tools. Neither consolidates marketplace tickets or changes what the apps charge you. Start with our commission free ordering guide instead.

Where Zayos fits, and where it does not
Zayos is ours, so weigh this accordingly. It is $499, $599 or $699 a month per location, month to month, no setup fee. That is above Popmenu’s Starter and Essentials tiers. We charge the restaurant nothing per order. The diner pays a flat service fee at checkout ($0.99 pickup, $2.99 delivery, $0 dine in, 10% on catering) and the restaurant keeps 100% of food revenue and 100% of tips.
The difference in kind, not degree: at $599 we pull your DoorDash, Uber Eats and Grubhub tickets onto the same kitchen tablet as your direct orders through Otter, the order aggregation layer many kitchens already run. Neither vendor on this page does that, because neither is trying to.
When not to pick us. If what you actually need is a beautiful site with ticketed events and you are on Clover, BentoBox is the better answer. If you want the cheapest published subscription with a real marketing engine attached, Popmenu Starter at $179 is a fair deal and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
Naya Grill in Pompano Beach and West Palm Beach is the restaurant live and taking orders on Zayos today, keeping over $48,000 a year that used to go to marketplace commissions. Seven more storefronts are built, with ordering opening at each launch. We are a Fort Lauderdale, Florida company. See what Zayos is and our pricing.
