Zayos savings calculator: what delivery apps cost your restaurant
The Zayos savings calculator shows what delivery apps charge your restaurant each month and each year, what a flat Zayos plan costs, and what you keep when part of those orders moves to your own site. You set every assumption, and every result shows the formula behind it.
A modeled estimate from the numbers you entered. Not a promise.
0 app orders a month per location pays for the plan.
The $0.99 service fee on pickup and delivery is paid by the diner, so it is not a restaurant cost and is not in these numbers.
How we got this
- What the apps charge
- Orders × share through apps × average order × commission rate × 12 months × locations.
- What Zayos costs
- Plan × locations × 12 months. Nothing per order.
- Commission you stop paying
- App sales × share moved to direct × (commission rate minus 3% card processing, which a direct order still pays).
Total: $0 - Money you keep
- Commission you stop paying, minus what Zayos costs.
- Break-even
- Plan ÷ (average order × share moved to direct × (commission rate minus 3%)).
One measured example: Farooj Abo Alabed, live on Zayos, is on pace for $40k+ a year in commission not paid to a marketplace: its direct food sales after discounts from 10 Aug to 3 Oct 2026 (55 days), annualized at a 35% blended marketplace cost.

How much do delivery apps take from a restaurant?
Delivery apps such as DoorDash, Uber Eats and Grubhub charge a restaurant a base commission of 15% to 30% of each order. The blended real cost is 25% to 35% once delivery, marketing and processing fees stack. The calculator defaults to 30%. Use the rate on your own payout statement.
How many orders does Zayos need to pay for itself?
Break-even is the plan price divided by what you keep on each app order: average order times the share moved to direct times the commission rate minus 3% card processing. At a $35 average order, a 30% commission, 30% moved to direct and the $499 Operator + Tablet plan, that is 177 app orders a month per location.
What does "share moved to direct" mean, and is it a promise?
It is the share of your delivery-app orders you expect to move to your own ordering site. It is an estimate you set, not a promise and not a measured result. The calculator starts at a cautious 30%. Move it to your own case; the break-even and the money kept update as you move it, and the result shown is for the value you chose.
