BentoBox is Clover only now. Here is the field, Zayos included.
Published July 2026 · Updated July 26, 2026
BentoBox no longer sells to restaurants that are not on Clover. Its own pricing page states products are available only to Clover POS customers, and it publishes no prices. If you run another POS your options are Popmenu, ChowNow, Owner.com, Square or Zayos, priced below.
Do you actually need to leave BentoBox?
Most alternatives pages start with features. This one starts with eligibility, because for BentoBox in 2026 eligibility is the deciding fact and it is published on their own pricing page.
You probably should not leave.
BentoBox is still the best looking restaurant website product in this category, and the Clover integration is now the point of it rather than an afterthought. Fiserv bought BentoBox in November 2021 and has since relaunched it as Clover Hospitality by BentoBox, so if your register is Clover, the two halves are moving toward each other and you are on the intended path. Know one number going in: on an ordering transaction, BentoBox's own help centre states the diner pays a $.99 service fee, collected by Clover Hospitality by BentoBox.
You have a POS decision, not a website decision.
BentoBox's pricing page states plainly that its products and services are available only to Clover POS customers, and directs new customers to learn about Clover instead. So the real question is no longer "which website vendor", it is "am I willing to move my register to Clover to keep this website". If the answer is no, everything below is your field. If the answer is maybe, price the register change first, because that is the expensive half.
One sentence worth keeping: since November 2021 BentoBox has been owned by Fiserv, the company behind Clover, and its restaurant product now ships as Clover Hospitality by BentoBox. Your website vendor and your register are the same decision now.
What are the real BentoBox alternatives?
Six options, including staying and switching your register. Published prices are labelled published, everything else is labelled reported with its source and date, accessed July 2026.
Move to Clover and keep BentoBox
Best for design led restaurants whose website is the brand asset.
Listed first because for some restaurants it is the right answer and no competitor page will tell you that. If your website is genuinely doing the selling, if you photograph your food properly, if private events and gift cards matter to your revenue, BentoBox earns its keep and switching to Clover to keep it is a defensible trade. Sauce reports the Takeout & Delivery plan from $49 a month plus $0.99 per order and 3% per transaction, month to month with 30 days notice (updated May 6, 2026). BentoBox itself publishes no prices, so treat any number you see, including that one, as a starting point for a quote.
Popmenu
Best when the website is really a demand problem in disguise.
Popmenu is the closest philosophical match to BentoBox: the site is a marketing engine, not a menu in a frame. Interactive menus, review aggregation, campaign automation. Popmenu's own site (accessed July 2026) says setup is included, there are no contracts, you can cancel anytime, and online ordering is commission free with a flat $1 fee per online order that the restaurant can choose to share with the guest. It does not publish the monthly rate. Restolabs reports Starter $179, Essentials $299 and Premier $499 with ordering as a roughly $50 a month add-on and about $300 a month per additional location (updated January 8, 2026). Trading one unpublished price list for another is a fair criticism of this option.
ChowNow
Best when you want ordering solved and you already have a site you like.
ChowNow is the narrow, published, no surprises option. Its pricing page (accessed July 2026) lists Launch at $249 monthly or $229 annually, Grow at $349 or $319 and Elevate at $449 or $409, with a $119 to $499 setup fee, processing at 2.95% + $0.29, $99 a year for the Apple developer account if you run the branded app, $7.98 per order for Flex Delivery, and marketing contacts capped at 500, 2,000 and 5,000 by tier. It takes no percentage of food revenue. It also does not pretend to be a design house, so if BentoBox was carrying your brand, this is a step down in that specific dimension.
Owner.com
Best when you want the site, the SEO and the marketing built for you.
Owner.com is the most complete done for you replacement: website, SEO pages, branded app, loyalty and automated marketing in one bundle. Its published pricing page (accessed July 2026) lists Flexible at $249 a month plus a 5% restaurant fee on every order, and Flat Rate at $499 a month with no additional restaurant fee, described as best for restaurants above $5,000 a month in online sales. Guests pay a 5% order support fee on both plans, month to month, with no cancellation fees. The percentage grows with your ticket, which is exactly the shape of cost BentoBox operators usually left to avoid.
Square
Best for the smallest operators who need a floor, not a flagship.
If the honest situation is that the BentoBox bill stopped making sense at your volume, Square is the credible floor. Per NerdWallet (updated March 20, 2026), Square for food and beverage runs Free at $0, Plus at $49 and Premium at $149 a month, with online processing at 3.3% + $0.30 on Free and 2.9% + $0.30 on Plus and Premium, and in person at 2.6% + $0.15, 2.5% + $0.15 and 2.4% + $0.15 respectively. Square's own pricing page (accessed July 2026) states there are no hidden fees or locked in contracts and you can cancel or switch anytime. What you give up is design depth and restaurant specific storytelling, which was the reason you were on BentoBox.
Zayos
Best when the site, the ordering and the marketplace tablets all need to be one thing.
Ours, so read it with that in mind. Zayos replaces the website and the ordering flow together, on your own domain, with the schema and page structure built in rather than bolted on. Pricing is published and flat: $499, $599 or $699 per location per month, month to month, no setup fee, and it is POS agnostic, so it does not tie your website to your register the way the Clover requirement now does. The diner pays a small flat service fee at checkout, $0.99 pickup, $2.99 delivery, $0 dine in, 10% on catering, and the restaurant keeps 100% of food revenue and tips. The $599 tier lands Uber Eats, DoorDash and Grubhub orders on the same tablet as direct orders through Otter. Honest counterweights: our monthly is higher than a reported $49 BentoBox add-on, we are the newest platform here, and Naya Grill in Pompano Beach and West Palm Beach is the only restaurant live and taking orders on Zayos today, keeping over $48,000 a year that used to go to commissions at about 3,000 orders a month. Eight more storefronts are built with ordering opening at launch.

Two vendors on this table publish no prices at all, which is itself a comparison point. Where a figure is reported rather than published, the source and its date are in the Sources block below.
How do you move off a hosted website without losing your traffic?
A website move is not a design project, it is a plumbing project. Five questions to answer in writing before you give notice to any vendor, BentoBox included. Every one of them has cost a restaurant real traffic when skipped.
Who owns the domain name?
Check the registrar before you give notice. If the vendor registered your domain, get it transferred into an account you control first. A website you can rebuild in a week is not the same as a domain you may have to argue for.
Do the old URLs still resolve?
Write down every page that currently ranks or gets linked, especially /menu, /order, /catering, /private-events and any location pages. Keep the same paths on the new site, or map each one to a 301 redirect. Silent 404s on a menu URL are the single most common way a redesign loses traffic it took years to earn.
Is your menu still readable as structured data?
BentoBox emits menu and restaurant schema for you. If the replacement does not, Google and the answer engines lose the machine readable version of your menu on cutover day. Ask any vendor to show you the JSON-LD on a live customer page before you sign, not a slide about SEO.
Where does your customer list live?
Export order history with emails and phone numbers while your account is still active, and open the file to confirm it is real. Do this first, not last. A list you cannot export is a list you do not own.
What is pointed at your old ordering link?
Your Google Business Profile order button, Instagram link in bio, Yelp, printed QR codes on tables and receipts, and any review site listing. Update the profile the same hour you cut over. Most restaurants remember the website and forget the profile, which is where a large share of order clicks actually start.
