How is the Zayos break-even worked out?

Break-even is the plan price divided by what you keep on each order that moves from a delivery app to your own site: the average order times the app commission rate minus 3% card processing, which a direct order still pays. At $35 and 30% that is $35 times 27%, or $9.45 an order.

Does the break-even count orders that were never on an app?

No. It counts orders that would otherwise have gone through a delivery app and paid its commission. A new customer who orders direct is extra revenue and is not in this sum, so the real break-even can come sooner.

What else do owners ask about break-even?

What if I pay a lower commission, such as 15%?

Then each moved order keeps less and break-even takes more orders. At a $35 average order and a 15% commission, the $399 plan needs 95 direct orders a month and the $499 plan needs 119. Use your own rate; your payout statement has it.

Is the $0.99 service fee part of the break-even?

No. The flat $0.99 service fee on pickup and delivery is paid by the diner at checkout, never by the restaurant, so it is not a cost in this sum. The restaurant pays the flat monthly plan: $399, $499 or $599 per location.
